Pirates of the Caribbean and a ship that sunk
Have to say, I was pretty excited about that. Love Jonny Depp.
2:45 hours later, I left the movie pretty disappointed. The film was long, boring, with a confusing story line.
Made me think about a commom mistake to business owners: when they think they should keep coming up with new products all the time. They run the danger of missing the point like this film did.
There is a moment in the film when a woman is shot in the head in a close -up. This film attracts a bunch of kids, some very very young. Besides, in this kind of film, that you watch to be entertain, you don't want to see death right in your face, they happen in a very subtle way, when they happen.
Is this the kind of entertainment we need them to see? Don't we have enough kids that think shooting innocents is ok?
I guess this time Pirates of the Caribbean forgot who their audience is. They could not communicate well to them, or to anyone else.
Another very commom mistake in business.
The main mistake was not being able to tell a story in a way it could engage the audience. They left the anti-hero in the back and filled the film with senseless action.
Looked full of effects and with a lot of action, but if you squeeze it, you get a lot of dirty teeth and no content. NO STORY.
Have you checked later if the story you tell about your business is good and relevant? If it engages your audience?
Are you sure you know who you are talking to? Are you filling spaces with nice design and a lot of bla, bla, bla?
Don't let your business go down like this film did.
It is not about creating something new all the time, it is about telling a good story to the right audience.
