Social Bookmarking is Good for Your Blog Rank!
Tagging of the blog document may be a positive indication of the quality of the blog document. Some existing sites allow users to add “tags” to (i.e., to “categorize”) a blog document. These custom categorizations are an indicator that an individual has evaluated the content of the blog document and determined that one or more categories appropriately describe its content, and as such are a positive indicator of the quality of the blog document.

While this makes logical sense, and I agree that it is a good idea, I am curious... does it really efect search engines? I have been reading a bit about how exactly google ranks blogs, and I had not heard this one. Though I would love to be wrong on the point :). Have you seen anything published that outlines this?
What I have noticed is a good increase in traffic
I took your advice Nash and spent a good part of yesterday "socializing." It was harder to find good sites to socialize with than I thought, but now that I have a few in my feedreader it should be easier in the future. I posted about my experience and mention you so you should go read it for a good laugh.
About tags, can you walk me through what you think is happening. For example, if someone comes to my blog and tags one of my posts, are you saying that that social event is helping my rankings on the search engines? Remember, you have to dumb it down for me.
