Internet Marketing: Google and Vince Chirico
In a nutshell he showed the basic differences between traditional media and digital media and how important it is today to understand that the basic need in marketing is to connect consumers and engage them using social media tools.
He showed one campaign done by Office Max using online video among other tools that increased their results in 22% during the back to school season.
The event was organized by the Utah Advertising Federation and was very well attended. Not a lot of people from internet marketing though. There was a small group from Woma, Wasatch Online Marketing Association. I don't know much about them. I attended one of their events once, and when I asked to join the group I was told they didn't see my company as Internet Marketing. That took me to an existential crisis that still lasts. What Am I?
The fact that I work only with online tools, consult businesses all around the country on their internet marketing strategies every single day of the week, and have a degree in e-c0mmerce, minor in web design, am certified as affiliate manager, adwords manager doesn't seem to be enough. Guess, you just cannot please everyone!
